Our organization has continued to grow as this year we will have over 100 players participating in PTLA. While this growth is GREAT is does require more individuals to make things run smoothly! As a non-profit organization we rely on volunteers to make the organization work.  If you have the availability to help out please join us.  Lacrosse knowledge is NOT a prerequisite to help – the types of opportunities are as follows:

  • Practice (especially with the very young teams) – shagging balls, helping with drills, rounding-up wandering kids, etc. This year the U11 and 15 teams have only one coach per team. One or two more parents are needed to do nothing more than help manage kids.

  • Game days – help with field set-up, keeping the scorebook & player stats. This year new rules will make player substitution more challenging at all levels but especially at the youth levels. Again one or two more parents are needed to do nothing more than help manage kids, particularly with the U11 and U15 teams. We would also like to keep very basic statistics for ALL teams and need one or two parents to help in this capacity.

  • Scoreboard operation- for our home games we will have the ability to use the large scoreboard at Warrior field. However we need volunteers to be in the booth to operate the scoreboard.  Our scoreboard coordinator is Frank Chronowski.  Contact him at 412-817-8558 or  @comcast.net.

  • Public Relations Director – (with a title like that who could resist!)  We would like to do a better job this year of putting articles in the local papers and recognizing our players.

  • Team Photographers - to post and share pictures on Facebook.  Contact Stacie McGuire at 412-551-9715 or and she will set you up as an administrator so you can upload albums and not have to post one picture at a time.

  • Fundraising Coordinator – Marnie Kaminski.  Participation in fundraising is not mandatory, the proceeds go directly to off-set the registration cost for your family.

  • U11 - Cory McGuire & Charlie Hach & Dave Alexander
  • U13 - John DeMarchis
  • U15 - Rob Martin & Ryan Sharrer
  • High School - Dan Hagerty, Miles Forney, Steve Schugt

As you can see from the list above, there are a great deal of "behind the scenes" activities required to operate a successful program. We appreciate the enthusiasm and support that PT LAX has received to date, and look forward to your involvement with the upcoming Spring Program.
